Winter 2009 ~Sneak peeks and cards galore!

After the past few releases I have learned something important about our design team... they don't like surprises. I've tried to explain the thrill and excitement it would bring for our new sets to be discovered waiting in their mailboxes. But unanimously they all agree they want to see them NOW! Me being someone who is very bad at keeping a surprise for long I easily cave in to their demands.

I mention this because I left a bit of a cliff hanger here in my last post. I also mention it because recently you may have visited the blog of our ever so fabulous DoodleFactory artist Irene, who is just as bad as me at keeping our finished sets under wraps.

So since Irene has posted a sneak peek of what's coming with this super adorable banner, how could we not snatch it from her blog and post it here for you guys as well! It's official, no one here at Starving Artistamps has any restraint when it comes to our new images!

An official Blog Hop reveal will be coming soon (2-3 weeks).
A super special thank you to Eva Andren for suggesting this theme!

In the mean time we have quietly introduced three brand new Nativity themed sets for your stamping pleasure. With so many new collections releasing in such a short time it would be impossible to do a bigger blog hop style reveal if we wanted you to see them in time for the holidays. All of our newest products can be found on our website and are available now.
Here is a quick link for you to take a look: http://starvingartistamps.com/whats_new_.html

And here is a bit of eye candy from our fabulous design team using our three new nativity collections, The Nativity, O' Holy Night and coordinating Nativity Sentiments.

PRESENTING Starving Artistamps new collection "The Nativity"
an incredibly generous portion of classic stamps to tell the story of the nativity in depth.

Worth noting:
check out how vastly different these two cards are, designed by two different designers using the same stamps. This is a great example of how stamps allow for personal creative expression.

And if you enjoy a more modern edge to your images....
May we present to you...
Starving Artistamps newest DoodleFactory Collection O' Holy Night

DoodleFactory O' Holy Night can be found here:

and again the Nativity sentiments can be found here: http://starvingartistamps.com/sentiments_christmas_nativity.html

Worth noting: Use your away in a manger lyrics for a beautiful text background.

Special thanks to Irene for designing this fantastic set
and to Juliana and Donna for all the help with the sentiments.
You guys ROCK!

Spread the Love Blog Hop today!

Welcome to our stop on the Spread the Love blog hop!

This hop was coordinated by Denise and Erin of the Stamp Something Challenge blog for Jamie Cates, an 11 year old victim of a violent crime. It is our hope that by having this hop Jamie's mailbox will be filled with cards with wishes of love and hope from around the world. We along with several other companies are very proud to be sponsoring this hop. There are 60 hops filled with awesome cards and many prizes to give away!

If you have arrived here all by yourself and want to start from the beginning please start here at Katharina Frei's blog: http://katharina1704.blogspot.com/

Here is the card I am sending to Jamie

I choose this theme and color because I know Jamie likes to skateboard, is not a "girly girl" but does like black and pink. I added a little bling for Arno's collar and the wheels on the skateboard (aurora borealis austrian crystals, I get mine from Outlines rubber stamps)

You can't see it so well in the picture but the front images are popped up and everything is colored with copics and accented with sakura glaze pens, my two favorite supplies for coloring!

I also made Jamie a coordinating envelope which I will be sending off inside a clear bag for protection.

Products and supplies list:
Stamps: Starving Artistamps, DoodleFactory collection: Urban stamp set

Markers: Copic caio markers:

Stampers Magic POP! Tape (for popping up images)

Thanks for hopping over to our blog!

If you would like to spread the love please consider sending Jamie a card, here’s a bit about Jamie:

Jamie is not really a girlie girl, but she does like hot pink and black. She likes outdoor activities such as biking, skateboarding, razor rip stick, snowboarding, and karate. As you may have read, she is a black belt in karate. Cards are to be mailed to:
Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon, NH 03057
Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us in our efforts to spread the love.

Spread the Love Blog Hop

Starving Artistamps will be sponsoring and participating in a special blog hop Monday November 2nd organized by Denise (owner of Whimsy stamps) and Erin Bailey (co-founder of the Stamp Something challenge blog)

After being touched by a tragedy that recently took place in a neighboring New Hampshire town. Denise and Erin have decided to make a difference and set up a Spread the Love Blog Hop with the hopes to cheer up an 11 year old little girl who was the victim of a random and violent crime:

On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home were a mother and her 11 year old daughter were sleeping. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings.

This is what Erin and Denise hope to accomplish by organizing this event:

"We want her to be showered with cards from around the world in an effort to restore hope to this young girl’s life. We’re also encouraging anyone who participates in the hop to mail a card to Jaimie and/or anyone they know who has been a victim of random violence."

So mark your calenders for 10 am EST November 2nd, 2009. There will be giveaways and a huge list of hop sites with piles and piles of cards to ogle!

Denise and Erin have set up a dedicated blog for the hop and will posting information as it becomes available. The blog is temporarily unavailable but will be set up by hop time on monday. http://spreadthelove-forjaimie.blogspot.com/
